Glass Worms
Glass Worms (Chaoborus)
Glass Worm Under Microscope

Glassworms are the mostly transparent larvae of midges of the genus Chaoborus. The adults do not bite as with Mosquitoes.

Collect Chaoborus larvae by way of a plankton net. After collecting the larvae store them in water that is well aerated and cold.

As a food for fish they are sold in Pet Shops or collected for Ponds. Although a nutritious food they are not often seen for sale.
